“So why exactly are you bringing this woman before me today, Xelloss?” Greater Beast Zelas Metallium tapped her fingers on her throne, her head resting on her hand with a bored expression on her face as she examined her general priest standing next to the half elf girl Lena. “Don’t tell me you want time off to spend with her again, that’s getting rather bothersome.”

Lena turned to Xelloss a bit surprised as she whispered. “I thought you told me she gave you the time off from your missions when you’d come to visit?”

Xelloss chuckled a bit, opening one eye to look at her. “She did, I just didn’t tell you that I had asked for it.” He mumbled, then turned to his lord. “Actually my lord I have a request to make. You see, I would like permission to be wed to Miss Lena here.”

Zelas just sat there blinking several times. “…”

Lena gripped Xelloss’s shoulder, worried about the reaction the Mazoku Lord would have. “He’s trying not to do anything behind your back since he is your servant, but we plan on making it official either way.” She spoke up.

“A holy union, Xelloss?” Zelas narrowed her eyes. “You should know what that means to our kind.”

“For one, I figured a fellow priest like Bulzome could wed us, second…” Xelloss smiled, turning to Lena. “I want to make it known that she is mine, there’s nothing wrong with a monster laying claim to his mate, is there?”

Zelas moved both her hands to grip on her throne now, looking as if she were going to react badly… Then suddenly burst out laughing. “Dynast owes me an underling now!” she smacked her hand on her throne.

Xelloss sweatdropped. “M-Mistress?”

Lena just stood there blinking in confusion.

“I knew this was going to come up eventually, and Dynast told me you two would elope.” Zelas laughed. “I bet him that you would never betray me like that and come and ask for permission first before doing anything foolish, after all that’s how I created you pup, to be loyal always to me.” She grinned.

Lena narrowed her eyes. “So what exactly does that mean? Yes or no?”

Zelas chuckled at her reaction. “Oh she is a joy, first worried then ready to fight back, now annoyed, quite interesting emotions. I can see why she has your interest so many emotions to feed on.”

Lena’s eyebrow twitched. “I am not a full course meal for you.”

“No, you’re just a multi-course meal for Xelloss.” Zelas laughed. “A role you’ll be playing for the rest of your lifetime.” She clasped her hands together. “Oh my who knew I’d be holding such a ceremony here of all places!”

Lena blinked rapidly. “Wait, you mean it is yes?”

“And here?” Xelloss seemed a bit surprised at that.

“Of course! Can’t have the lady change her mind now can we?” Zelas grinned.

“Who said I’m going to change my mind?” Lena asked, slightly annoyed.

“Well you humans are prone to changing your minds quickly, so we better get the ceremony going right away!” Zelas snapped her fingers. “Bulzome!”

A Mazoku appeared with an orange beak-like mask for a face. His robes were blue and red, with similar symbols on it like Xelloss and a black staff with a red gem. “Yes my lord?”

“Take Xelloss and prepare him for the ceremony, I’ll be handling the bride.” Zelas grinned. “You’ll be the one performing the union.”

“As you wish my lord.” Bulzome grabbed Xelloss’s shoulder.

“W-wait my lord, I’m sure Miss Lena wants to have her friends-“ Xelloss though was cut off by the Greater Beast.

“Now, now, pup. My island isn’t a tourist area for a bunch of humans to come through here.” Zelas wagged her finger. “If you really want this union, you will do it fast, and do it now.”

Lena sighed and crossed her arms. Of course Zelas was going to take over the situation. “We’ll have it here but how about Xelloss and I ready ourselves?”

“Oh and here I wanted to help you pick out your dress!” Zelas grinned.

“Pick it out and have Bulzome bring it to us.” Lena grabbed Xelloss’s free arm. “In the meantime I can get Xelloss ready.” She was trying to keep a level head through the whole thing, and she knew fighting against Xelloss’s Mistress would be a useless battle. But at least if she went along with this, they’d be allowed to be married. Granted she was upset about not being allowed to invite Lina and the rest, but they could always hold a party or something to recreate it for them, at least this way it’s official.

“Alright then.” Zelas just narrowed her eyes.

“Thank you Mistress, we’ll go prepare then.” Xelloss took Lena and teleported into his room on Wolfpack, which was a simple room with purple walls and a single bed in the corner. A few books and other objects on some shelves, things he had collected over the years. “I apologize for all that.” He said after a moment.

Lena shook her head. “It’s ok Xelloss, I actually expected her to say no so this is a surprise.”

“Yes, but I can feel in your emotions the disappointment Miss Lina and the others can’t attend.” Xelloss cupped her chin.

“We can always hold a mock ceremony with them.” Lena shrugged, placing her hand over his. “Besides if Amelia were to attend she’d just give you a migraine. And we both know Lina isn’t all that much for weddings. And all that really matters is that we get to be together.”

Xelloss smiled at her, leaning in to kiss her lips softly. “Even if Lord Beast Master had forbid it, I still would have tried. I’m quite surprised she’s allowing it.”

“She probably has her own agenda to it, but there’s no way we’ll find out right away.” Lena sighed, shaking her head.

“Perhaps she thinks keeping you on our side is a better idea, and that offering me something for all my years of loyalty.” Xelloss chuckled. “After all, not many of her creations have been known to stay, look at Seigram.”

Lena nodded. “You’re right, you deserve a raise in your allowance.” She poked his nose playfully.

“I’ve already gotten it times ten my lovely, by being allowed to be with you.” Xelloss whispered, kissing her jaw. His arms snaked around her waist as he held her close.

Lena smiled softly at him. “I love you Xelloss.”

Xelloss smiled and kissed the crown of her head. “I’ve waited a thousand years for you my dear Lena, would you believe this Mazoku if I were to say I love you as well? Even if our kind is said not to be able to love?”

“You’ve proven that before already.” Lena replied, nuzzling her head into his chest. “There are times you drive me crazy with your secrets, there are times you prove you’re a monster and can be a bastard, but I can’t imagine my live without you anymore.”

“Neither can I.” he admitted, stroking her hair. “Before you it was so easy to be by myself, solitude is normal for Mazoku. I never craved company before, until I met Lina and the rest of you. I must say your cousin’s group is the most interesting batch of humans I’ve ever encountered.”

Lena laughed at that. “Lina has that effect on all kinds of creatures, human, Mazoku and dragon alike.” She then looked thoughtful. “Wait I just thought of something, we don’t have rings.”

“Don’t worry about that dear, Mazoku ceremonies don’t require jewelry.” Xelloss chuckled. “But if you insist, when we go to have a mock ceremony with everyone else I’ll get us a pair.”

Bulzome then appeared. “Lord Zelas sent me with the dress for Miss Lena.” He held up the wedding dress that was… Purple? Otherwise the dress looked pretty normal, a bit form fitting but not too bad.

“Why is it black?” Lena asked.

“Probably because Lord Beast Master thinks white is only for holy ceremonies.” Xelloss sweatdropped. “Does it bother you that badly?”

Lena shook her head. “It’s alright Xelloss, a color of a dress isn’t that important.” She took the dress from Bulzome and glared at the two Mazoku. “Alright you two, out. I need to change.”

Xelloss grinned at that. “Oh like I haven’t see you before my lovely Lena.” He playfully undid one button on her blouse. “I can help you dress then you can dress me.”

“I SAID OUT!” Lena shoved both of them out the door, a blush on her face as she did and slammed the door.

“Miss Lena sure does have some… Interesting reactions doesn’t she?” Bulzome asked.

“Yes, very.” Xelloss chuckled, patting Bulzome’s back. “Let’s get ready for the ceremony shall we?”

About 20 minutes later, Lena found herself back in Zelas’s throne room. The train of her dress hit the floor so she was trying to hold it up as she walked. In a way she was glad nobody saw her in this dress, she looked like she was going to a funeral not a wedding… “Well I guess this is what happens when you hold a dark wedding ceremony.” She mumbled to herself.

“Ah there you are.” Zelas grinned, wearing a skin tight white dress. “Ah yes that dress fits you perfectly.”

Lena couldn’t help the glare on her face when she saw Zelas and what she was wearing. “You know it’s rude to wear white to someone else’s wedding.”

The Mazoku Lord laughed at that. “Maybe in your holy ceremonies it is, but you’re in demon territory right now my dear. Those silly rules don’t apply here.”

Lena narrowed her eyes. ‘More likely she’s just trying to piss me off to get the wedding called off or just plain feed off my emotions. Well two can play at that game.’ She cleared her throat. “Oh so I guess that means black is the color for demon weddings? I guess that means you want our marriage to last rather than bringing it bad luck by following human tradition.”

Zelas pursed her lips. “Yes… Of course…” she seemed angry that Lena wasn’t reacting as negative as she had hoped.

Lena smirked and walked towards Xelloss, he was now dressed in a violet tux, in a way she was glad they matched at least. Bulzome stood next to him, his robes changed just a bit to look more official.

“You look lovely.” Xelloss spoke, his voice velvet as he took Lena’s hand.

“You’re looking great too.” She responded, smiling at him.

Zelas cleared her throat. “Spare me the positivity please and let’s get this over with. Unless you two have changed your minds.”

Xelloss and Lena merely shook their heads. “We want this.” They said in unison.

Bulzome nodded. “We are here to unite two souls as one.” He took a black cord and wrapped it around the couple’s joined hands. He then started speaking in some sort of language Lena never heard before.

“What’s that for?” Lena whispered. “And what’s he saying?”

“For a Mazoku’s ceremony, it’s more about joining souls then vowing, as words of promise can simply be broken. So the cord is placed around us as a spell is placed on our Astral forms.” Xelloss chuckled. “Of course that means you’re stuck with me for eternity, as a bonded soul remains alive as long as the other.”

“Oh and of course you failed to mention that part.” Lena rolled her eyes. “But I guess I have no choice, if I’m going to hell for being with a demon I might as well go all the way.” She giggled, then looked into his open eyes. “I love you.”

“As I you.” Xelloss replied, turning to Bulzome once he finished the chant. The cord disappeared then.

Bulzome then cupped their joined hands in his. “Bounded souls for life and death, never to part ways and to cross the Sea of Chaos together. You are now one.”

Lena blinked, it was a different way of saying it.

Xelloss sighed. “Bulzome, remember that last line I asked you to say for Miss Lena’s sake? You say it now.”

“Oh yes, I pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss your bride Master Xelloss.” Bulzome released their hands.

Lena smiled as Xelloss lifted the lavender vale over her head and kissed her, holding her as close as possible.

Zelas clapped a few times. “Good, now that’s over I have your mission ready for you Xelloss.”

Lena frowned as their kiss broke. “Already you’re sending him off? No wonder you were in a hurry to-“

“To your honeymoon.” Zelas smirked.

“Huh?” Xelloss blinked.

“I figured a vacation in the kingdom of Dilis would do.” Zelas crossed her arms. “Just be sure to come back within a month as your duties will pile up Xelloss.”

Xelloss bowed. “Thank you Mistress.”

“Thanks Zelas.” Lena smiled. “And here I thought you didn’t like the idea of us getting married.”

“Oh heavens no, but if I didn’t give you a hard time, I never would make it through your positive emotions for Xelloss!” Zelas laughed. “Also if you called it off over the most stupid things like the dress, you’ll never last in the world of Mazoku.”

“Always a test with you, isn’t it?” Lena’s eyebrow slightly twitched.

“Can’t be too careful with my little boy.” Zelas grinned.

Xelloss tilted his head to the side. “But why Dilis? Don’t tell me Sherra needs help with-“

“Actually she does need help, as Lord Dynast was telling Lord Zelas he’s worried she’s acting weird around Joe lately and wondered if she could learn a thing or two from you two.” Bulzome spoke up.

“BULZOME!” Zelas snapped.

“But he asked.” Bulzome shrugged.

Lena sweatdropped. ‘Knew there was an angle…’

Xelloss chuckled. “I’ll be pleased to explain the benefits of a relationship to Sherra. But knowing her temper Joe better be durable enough for it.” He then pulled Lena into a hug. “Ready to go my dear?”

Lena nodded, smiling at her new husband. “Alright, let’s got then.”

Xelloss smiled and kissed his wife, teleporting off to the start of their new life together.
